Tiles are used for a variety of purposes, including flooring, walls, and countertops. They are typically made of ceramic or porcelain, but can also be made from other materials like stone, glass, or metal. Our Dublin tiles are mainly used as furnishing materials to add personality, texture, and style to a wall, ceiling, or floor.

The world’s first tile was estimated to date back to 3300 BC, when brilliant blue, high-sheen tiles were made in ancient cities like Babylon. These tiles were utilized to produce stunning adornments in the ancient structures.

What Are Tiles Made Of?

There are six main types of tiles categorized according to the type of material that they are made of. These are ceramic tile, porcelain tile, glass tile, marble tile, granite tile, and natural stone tiles.

Clay-based tiles are considered to be the best option for kitchen and bathroom areas where moisture is a common problem. These types of flooring are very water-resistant compared to other types of floorings. They too come in a variety of colors, sizes, shapes, and patterns. The type of material used for manufacturing a tile directly affects its cost.

How Much Do Dublin Tiles Cost?

Here are some of the most common materials used for tile manufacturing together with their costs.

Ceramic Tiles

Ceramic tiles are a type of tile that is made from different materials. They can be used for walls, floors, or even roofs. Ceramic tiles are strong and durable, and they’re easy to clean. They’re also fire-resistant.

Ceramic tiles are a great choice for floors and walls because they’re so easy to care for. They’re stain-resistant and can be cleaned with a damp mop or cloth. They’re also scratch-resistant, which is important if you have pets or children.

On average ceramic tiles cost around $3.99 to $9.99 per square foot.

Porcelain Tiles

Porcelain tiles are a type of ceramic tile that is made from porcelain clay. They are strong, durable, and resistant to staining and scratching. They are also easy to clean and can be used in both residential and commercial applications. Porcelain tiles typically cost more than other types of ceramic tiles, but they are worth the investment because of their many benefits.

It can cost you around $3 to $10 per square foot for indoor porcelain tile material and labor costs and up to $35 per square foot for material and labor costs for outdoor settings.

Glass Tiles

Glass tiles are a popular choice for both interior and exterior tiling applications. They are available in a wide range of colors, and because they are made from glass, they have a sleek and modern look. Glass tiles are also very durable, and can withstand even the harshest weather conditions. However, because they are made from glass, they are also quite fragile and can break easily if they are not properly installed.

While glass tiles are generally more expensive than ceramic or porcelain tiles, they are still a relatively affordable option for many homeowners. For example, a standard 12″ x 12″ glass tile can cost as little as $2 per square foot, while a more premium tile can cost upwards of $10 per square foot.

Marble Tile

Marble, like other types of stone, needs special attention and care. Marble should never be acid-washed because it will dull. Over some time, marble should be polished to get a fresh new appearance. The marble darkens if proper precautions are not taken.

Marble tiles are often used for kitchen countertops, bathroom floors, fireplace surrounds, and other aesthetic purposes. Marble tiles can cost around $5 to $10 per square foot while slabs cost around $10 to $20 per foot.

Granite Tile

Granite is a popular stone for both interior and exterior projects, including homes, bridges, paving, monuments, and other similar projects. Polished granite slabs and tiles are utilized in countertops, tile floors, stair treads, and other design components inside the home. Granites are a high-end material used to create the illusion of beauty. It is a hard, scratch-resistant material that makes excellent flooring in the kitchen and other high-traffic zone areas.

Granite tiles cost around $5 to $15 while granite slabs start at $40 and can go as high as $100 per square foot.

Natural Stone Tile

Natural stone tile is exactly what it sounds like. It’s a non-man-made, all-natural material that comes straight from the Earth. Slate, granite, marble, limestone, travertine, and sandstone are some of the many natural stones available.

The national average for natural stone tile is $1,933, with the low end and high end of the price range at $450 and $6,000, respectively. Natural stones are a popular choice when it comes to flooring over carpeting, wood, or ceramic tiles.

The cost of tiles depends on many factors, mainly the materials from which it is made of. Installation costs also vary. The harder the installation process is, the more expensive the labor cost will be.
