2019 Color Trends: Coral is the Hottest

2019 Color Trends: Coral is the Hottest

2019 color trends

Each year has it’s own color trends and 2019 is no different. For this year, it seems coral is the hottest color when it comes to decor and home accessories. The bold, warm hue is gorgeous and unique, making it idea for those looking to add a bit of energy to their home. It’s actually Pantone’s color of the year, which is probably why you’re seeing it everywhere you look – from decor magazines and TV shows to Instagram feeds and social media!

Coral is optimistic and hopeful, bringing life into any space, whether it’s glam, modern, minimalist or any other style. Pantone’s color of the year is actually “living coral 16-1546,” which is a shade that can be specifically requested and has a universal meaning.

Here are some tips on how to incorporate living coral into your home this year:

List of Contents

Use It For a Pop of Color

Living color is a vibrant and warm color that can be used to complement any cool or neutral color scheme. When adding a “pop” of color, it should be noteworthy. A table centerpiece, large wall art, or feature that you want to stand out. You can even paint objects you already have or bring home a big bouquet in this color.

Your Front Door

Give your front door a bright makeover that will really welcome guests by painting it this rich coral! It’s cheerful and unique, and can make you the envy of all your neighbors. Not to mention look stunning next to your green lawn and plants.

Try a Tint or Shade

Coral at its brightest is a hue, but sometimes all that brightness doesn’t fit a space. In that case, you can try adding white, black, or grey to the color to change its character a bit. It’ll still be the same color tone but feel softer. Some of these resulting colors can be called names like “light coral pink,” “dusty coral,” or “coral shadow”.

An Accent Color

If you’re not sure about making corral a central color in your home, maybe it should be an accent color. This is a color found repeatedly in a room, but not in a central or overwhelming way. Some throw pillows, a photo frame, a vase, shelf paper in a bookshelf. Like a reoccuring theme that plays out in the background of your decor.

Coral is a beautiful color that can easily brighten up any space, so don’t be afraid to use it to make your space more vibrant!
